Maxine McGinnis went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2012 at her home. She was born on November 6, 1925 in Whitestar, KY, to William and Myrtle (Large) Anderson. She married Lester McGinnis in Jonesville, VA on March 25, 1944. Maxine moved from Virginia to Tipton in 1966. She was a faithful charter member of the Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tipton. Surviving are; her husband Lester McGinnis of Tipton, a son, Earl McGinnis of Elwood, two granddaughters; Anjanette Pate of Galveston and Heather Nunemacher and husband Bobby of Tipton, three great grandchildren; Sydney Rose Pate of Galveston, Alyson Nunemacher of Tipton, and Jon Stokes of Tipton. Also surviving are two sisters; Margie Ramsey and husband Kyle of Kokomo, Gladys Nevitt of Johnson County, TN, and a brother, Edward Anderson of Jonesville, VA along with numerous nieces and nephews. Maxine was one of fourteen children, five brothers and five sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 8 PM on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at the Beech Grove Baptist Church located at 233 Mill Street in Tipton, with visitation two hours prior the services. Pastor Cliff Kelly will be officiating. Interment will take place on Friday March 16 at Miller’s Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville, Virginia.
