U.S. Veteran

Larry “Ravi” L. Yeary, age 66, a resident of Kempton, IN passed away on Monday April 2, 2012 at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born in Frankfort, IN on August 21, 1945 to Agbert and June (Gillenwater) Yeary. Larry was previously married to Marsha Yeary. He was a 1963 graduate of Tipton High School and upon graduation he was drafted into the US Army during the Viet Nam War, serving from 1963 to 1967. Larry retired from Chrysler in Kokomo after 30 years of service with the company and was a member of UAW Local 685. He had a passion for cars, in his spare time he did his own restorations. Larry was certified in auto body repair and spent many hours in his shop working on cars. His pride was a 1967 Shelby Cobra Mustang that he had purchased new from the dealer and maintained over the years. Larry also enjoyed golfing, he participated in various tournaments throughout Howard County that benefited local charities. He was also a very talented billiard shooter and had traveled extensively playing in pool tournaments. Above all Larry was a very patriotic man who loved his Country and God. Larry’s survivors include his mother, June Yeary of Tipton, his children; Erin Yeary of Virginia, Nicholas Yeary of Tipton County, Cole Yeary of Indiana, Kiersten Yeary Sanders and husband Patrick of Kokomo, and Britt Yeary Carroll of Indiana. Other survivors include his siblings; Laymon “Budgie” Yeary of Tipton County, Patricia Yeary Harlow of Tipton County, Sharon Yeary Nadolski of Indianapolis along with 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild and his dog Tink. Larry was preceded in death by his father Agbert Yeary. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday April 6, 2012 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with visitation from 12 PM to 2 PM the same day. Pastor Pastor Mike Sawyer will be officiating. Interment will take place in the Kempton Cemetery. The family request memorial donations be made to the Disabled Veterans Association at 6285 Pearl Road in Cleveland, Ohio 44130.
