Bobby W. Mahaney, age 72 of Tipton passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1939 in Holland, KY to Buby and Pernie (Stinson) Mahaney. He married Beverly Ballenger on November 14, 1992 celebrating 19 years of marriage. Bobby worked construction most of his life and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #274.
Bob loved playing cards, especially euchre. At one time he was a Little League coach, played on various softball teams over the years and bowled on different leagues in and around Tipton County. Most of all Bobby loved to visit, he never met a stranger and will be remembered as always having a smile on his face.
Survivors include his wife Beverly Mahaney, his children; Bonnie (Martin) Aspiazu, Debbie (Dave) Gillam, Bruce Mahaney and his fiancé Marlo, Lisa (Dan) Patton, Brenda Boes and fiancé Doug, and his grandchildren; Stefanie Aspiazu, Michael Aspiazu, Clay Aspiazu, Derek Boes, Tyler Mahaney, and Breanna Ricketts. Other survivors include a sister, Carolyn (Jim) Comstock and a brother, Jim (Jenny) Mahaney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Paul Mahaney, Calston Mahaney, Donald Mahaney, Delvin Mahaney, Francis McClard, Martha Shields, Wilma Dean Spivey, and Jeanette Garmon.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at the Porter Funeral Home at 726 East North St. Tipton, IN on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM.
A service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be at Porter Funeral Home 726 East North St. Tipton, IN at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 12, 2012 with Pastor Josh Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.
